Take the time to explore Botswana's contrasts in scenic areas on a game-viewing adventure reminiscent of the days of the great African explorers.

On this great journey, you’ll encounter the world-famous Victoria Falls on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River and explore Botswana's scenic northern areas: from the blue-green wetlands of the Okavango Delta to the Linyanti and Chobe River systems renowned for their predators and large concentrations of game.

Itinerary

Enjoy the Victoria Falls before venturing to the Chobe and Linyanti River systems and discovering the myriad animals that inhabit these wildlife-rich areas. We then move into the Okavango Delta and explore the wondrous wetland that is the Okavango Delta.

    Arrive in Livingstone and transfer directly to the Victoria Falls for a guided tour of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. We then take a road transfer to Toka Leya Camp, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, where we spend the night., Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park, where we spend the night.

  • Day 2

    We fly to Kasane for a Chobe River Boat Cruise. The area is famous for its vast herds of elephants in the dry season and other unique species. Enjoy a light lunch on the boat.

  • Day 2 - 4

    Moving further south, we fly to Linyanti Tented Camp, Linyanti Concession. Activities include game drives in the private northern sector of the concession, exploring a range of habitats, seeing a variety of wildlife en route to slake their thirst from the river.

  • Day 5 - 7

    Fly to Gomoti Tented Camp in the heart of the Santawani Concession in the south-east corner of the Okavango Delta. The area’s wide range of exciting wildlife habitats can produce extraordinary wildlife experiences.

  • Day 8 - 10
    +

    Fly to Jacana Camp or Xigera Camp in the Moremi Game Reserve / Okavango Delta. Both camps offer the true Delta experience and are set on lush islands where permanent water all year round allows one to enjoy this true water wonderland.

    Bid farewell to your adventure as we transfer by light aircraft to Maun Airport.

    Xobega (Gcobega) Island Camp is located on a small island in the Okavango Delta and the camp is accessed by boat from Mboma Boat Station in the Moremi Game Reserve. The Mboma Boat Station is accessed via road or light air transfer into Xakanaxa airstrip. The Okavango Delta offers spectacular sightings of big game, magnificent birdlife and extraordinary natural beauty.

    This location is easily reached by self-drivers travelling from Maun, through the Moremi Game Reserve from either North or South Gate, to Mboma Boat Station, where they will be picked up transferred to Xobega. This area of the Okavango Delta is dominated by hippos and is a true water safari experience in Africa's greatest wetland.

  • Typical Day at Xobega Island Camp

    Boating safaris are the main attraction at Xobega Island, while mokoro safaris are easily organised. Daily routines change according to guests’ itineraries; however, the below is a guideline of day-to-day activity:

    06h00 Wake up call followed by coffee and rusks at the dining tent

    06h30 Depart for 3-4 hour boat cruise including a coffee stop

    10h30 Return to camp with hot bucket showers ready and waiting

    11h30 Brunch is served in the dining tent, followed by afternoon siesta

    16h00 Depart for afternoon boat cruise

    18h30 Return to camp with hot bucket showers ready and waiting

    19h30 Dinner is served at camp, followed by campfire chatter
